The Great Smoky National Park has approximately 2,115 miles of streams within its boundaries, and protects one of the last wild trout habitats in the eastern United States. The park offers a wide variety of angling experiences from remote, headwater trout streams to large, coolwater smallmouth bass streams. Most streams remain at or near their carrying capacity of fish and offer a great opportunity to catch these species throughout the year.

There is a riding stable near the entrance of the Cades Cove loop in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As the horses provide an excellent way to enjoy the cove, you may want to stop there.

The Cades Cove Riding Stableis open April through October, weather permitting. Guided tours are conducted on horseback for $15 an hour. Carriage rides around Cades Cove costs seven dollars. Motorized hay rides are excellent for large groups and cost $8.00 per person.

Alum Cave Bluff Trail is a moderately difficult hike is 4.6 miles round-trip or 5.1 miles on to LeConte Lodge. The round-trip to the cave bluff takes about 2 and 1/2 hours, but allow about 3 and 1/2 hours to LeConte Lodge. The Alum Cave Trail is the most popular and well-known route to Mount Le Conte.
